5 Niseko Stories: Trailer
An exclusive peek at My House Pictures' new production, 5 Niseko Stories, featuring renowned skiers and boarders from around the globe.
During the winter of 2015/2016 My House Pictures, a Higashiyama-based production company, was out and about in Niseko capturing a look at winter with the Niseko apparel company OYUKI's team riders for their new film "5 Niseko Stories". The team includes Toshiya Kasuga (snowboarder), Nat Segal (Free-ride World Tour competitor), Yohei Sasaki (skier), Boen Ferguson (photographer/skier) and the film also includes Olympic snowboarder Jenny Jones, backcountry guide Owain Bassett, Australian skiers Harrison McInnes and Adam Kroenert, Australian snowboarder Charlie Steinbacher and Hokkaido junior snowboard wonder-kid Rikuto Ohashi.
The film tells 5 uniquely Niseko stories. The first is “The Zone” which is shot beyond the ropes with Lincoln Taylor’s Big Wave Snow-cat Tours and Par Darlin’s PPP. The second is "Yohei Sasaki", the third "Nat Segal", the fourth "Boen Ferguson" and the final "Toshiya Kasuga". The film differs from most snowsports films in that it takes you into the lives of each character and provides a look at winter in Niseko from a local and visitor perspective. Filmed on some of the best days of the season “5 Niseko Stories” provides a great perspective of the type of conditions and terrain you can encounter here in Japan’s #1 snow town.
The soundtrack includes hit music from "Boy and Bear”, “Angus and Julia Stone” and “Hermitude”. Shot entirely in 5K widescreen “5 Niseko Stories” is the second Niseko-based film from award winning photographer Shane Peel and follows on from his highly successful debut film “Snowsurf” . “5 Niseko Stories” is made possible thanks to Oyuki Apparel, Experience Niseko, Rhythm Japan, Sontimer Eyewear.
"5 Niseko Stories" will release Monday July 18 exclusive to tetongravity.com.
