Experience a different side of Niseko at Somoza, now open for lunch and tea ceremony experience.
Soak up the tranquility of nature and the flavour of Japan with a visit to recently opened, Somoza Cafe & Gallery. Housed in a re-purposed 150 year old traditional Japanese home or "kominka" originally from Tochigi, Somoza offers visitors a unique experience combining art, Japanese culture and food in one space.
To celebrate Somoza's first winter season, founder of Somoza, Sekka Brand and Zaborin, Shouya Grigg, presents his photo exhibition: WABI STYLE - Art of imperfection.
The exhibition features minimalistic black and white photographs printed on handmade “Washi” (Japanese) paper, together with a collection of mid-century modern Japanese art curated to the theme of the exhibition.
Somoza is a combination of the essential elements that make Japan unique as a destination: tradition, craftsmanship, design, history, food and spectacular scenery.
These elements brought together in one location, and with the addition of of inspiring artworks, makes for a special experience now available in Niseko.

Open: Tuesday to Saturday 12:00 to 16:00 (Sunday, Monday Closed)
Location: Kutchan Town, Hanazono 78-5 (5 minutes from the Hanazono Ski Resort by car)
Dine: Chef’s Lunch Course is ¥4,500, Tea Ceremony with Special Lunch Box ¥5,000, Chef's Table Dinner can be reserved from Tue to Sat from 18:00

Free pick-up is available to guests from Hanazono & Hirafu to Somoza until Dec 20th with advance reservation. Pick-up time is either 11:30 or 13:00.
