First running of Hokkaido Triathlon a success
Local triathlete Jess Ripper triumphs in first running of the Hokkaido Triathlon
On Sunday 21st August the first running of the Hokkaido Triathlon took place on a hot and sunny day.
The half-ironman distance race started with a swim in Lake Toya, then an epic cycle ride from Toya to Kutchan and over Mt Annupuri, before an extremely hilly and challenging run finishing in Hirafu.
Congratulations to all who took part and especially to local triathlete Jess Ripper who took home the overall victory in the first running of this race.
After a successful trial run we are all hopeful that the race will become a fixture in the sports calendar of the Niseko area. More information can be found online at http://hokkaido-triathlon.jp/ (Japanese only).
