Kutchan Town's Jaga Matsuri 2018
Take a look into the potatoes themed festival of Kutchan Town.
Jaga Matsuri is one of the biggest summer festivals which happens in Kutchan Town. Celebrating the good harvest, the festival is themed around the town's famous crop; potatoes.
The festival was filled with family-friendly events including hot curry and rice speed eating, arm wrestling, jumbo potato roll and an all-you-can-grab potato giveaway to tie into the festival's potato theme.
Delicious food stalls set up by local restaurants lined the main streets of Kutchan Town while live performances by jazz bands, dance crews as well as traditional taiko drumming kept the lively atmosphere of the festival going.
This year's event attracted more than 2,000 people to attend and was the first year in which over 1,000 people joined the Bon Dance parade at the end of the festival.
