Kutchan Bid To Host G20 Summit

Japan will host the G20 summit in 2019 and Kutchan Town is bidding to be the location.

The latest G20 Summit met in Hamburg, Germany this past July and next year's Summit is scheduled to take place in Argentina.

If Kutchan were to win the bid and host the G20 event, it would be the second time that Hokkaido would bear the honour of hosting such a high-authority political meeting. In 2008, the Windsor Hotel Toya Resort, which overlooks Lake Toya, was the site of the G8 Summit.

From all of us here at Experience Niseko, we wish Kutchan Town the best of luck with their bid. It would truly be an exciting event to see come to the Niseko area!
