New Ace Gondola Construction Progress
Grand Hirafu will have an upgraded gondola this winter. Construction is going well in the lead up to the season and we can't wait to ride up the mountain in comfort and style.
Construction on Track
The Grand Hirafu lift system is receiving a significant upgrade for this upcoming winter by replacing the much-loved Center Four lift. Set to make its debut in November 2024, the new gondola will be called the "Ace Gondola". Construction is progressing smoothly and remains on schedule to be ready before the winter season. Both the top and bottom lift stations are looking great, and will be ready to offer a more comfortable and scenic ride up the mountain.
Ride in Style
The Ace Gondola will feature Wi-Fi in all 54 cabins, making it a breeze to stay connected. With heated seats and racks for skis and mountain bikes, the luxury cabins ensure comfort and warmth on your journey up the mountain. Holding up to 10 people per cabin, this state-of-the-art lift will transport 2,800 skiers and riders per hour, so you can spend less time waiting and more time carving up the slopes. Operating 50% faster than the previous lift, it will also help alleviate congestion at the ski resort. If you’re lucky, you might even catch one of the two cabins featuring a special design with a see through floor for 360° views!
Seamless access
The Ace Gondola will cover the same familiar distance as the old Center Four lift, with its starting point next to the .Base (Dot Base) ticket office, and its top station beside the Ace Hill Cafe. This convenient location gives your day an easy start - just grab your ticket, hop on the gondola, and you’ll be at the top of the mountain in no time. Enjoy a seamless transition from ticketing to the slopes, with all the comfort and amenities of the new gondola at your fingertips.
To avoid any confusion, please note that the Grand Hirafu ski area will now feature two gondolas. Be sure to head to the correct location: the original Grand Hirafu Gondola is located beside the Mountain Centre, while the new Ace Gondola is situated next to the .Base (Dot Base) lift ticket office.
Stay tuned for more updates as the opening approaches!
