Niseko Classic Weekend Line Up
Check out the busy line up of events that coincide around this year's Niseko Classic weekend!
The Niseko Classic
Over the last four years, The Niseko Classic has grown into one of the summer's biggest events. Each year the event draws more and more guests as spectators and participants. Given that the number of visitors have been on the rise for whichever weekend the event falls on, it is no surprise that many other events have lined themselves up alongside the race.
We have done a bit of research to find the most exciting events that overlap with the Niseko Classic and which might make for a good addition to your Niseko Classic weekend itinerary.
The Niseko Classic Festival
The Niseko Classic Festival is a non-stop event that runs during the Niseko Classic weekend. The festival serves as a celebration for riders and entertainment for spectators.
Last year's event saw plenty of food, drinks, live music performances, celebrities and more. Take a look at the video above for an idea of what to expect.
Yotei Fun Ride
This new event is a great chance to try a longer cycle, but without all the competition! The Yotei Fun Ride is a 58 km circuit course that is divided up with four stops along the way. Riders will circle Hokkaido's most iconic mountain, taking in the great views along the way, before returning to the finish. The four stops are the Niseko Nature Centre, Makkari Onsen, Kyogoku Town's Fukidashi Park and Agriculture Station Yotei.
Niseko Jazz Festival
Now in it's 6th year, the Niseko Jazz Festival started out as a simple BBQ get together between local and Sapporo Jazz musicians. Now the event attracts a full big band ensemble as well as many of the musicians from its humble roots. Swing by for an evening of live music, good food and good company!
*We are are running a giveaway for two pairs of tickets to the event on the page linked above. Please feel free to share with friends and family who might be interested in attending.
Iwanai Shrine Reitaisai Festival
This is one of the larger summer festivals in and around the Niseko area. Iwanai Town is located 45 minutes north-west of the Niseko Resort area by car. The three-day festival is centred around parading the two shrine alters that are in housed within Iwanai Shrine around the town and wishing luck upon all of the local homes and businesses. The alters are loaded on to fishing boats on the final day and raced around the harbour. Be sure to swing by Iwanai Shrine Reitaisai Festival for a look into Japanese traditions at some point during the weekend.
