Stay Cool this Summer with Cold Udon Noodles
Cool down like the locals do by trying cold udon noodles, a popular summer meal here in Japan.
Enjoy cold soba or udon noodles dipped in a light soy sauce topped with spring onions. Udon in Niseko made from Hokkaido wheat and Mt Yotei spring water is very popular among foreigners. Trying out cold udon in Niseko is highly recommended this summer.
Homemade Udon Gokoro
Located at the corner of the midtown intersection in East Hirafu, Gokoro serves homemade noodles made with Hokkaido flour and steeped in a delicious golden broth. Gokoro's homemade udon can be served either hot or cold and comes accompanied by mouth-watering tempura vegetables, mushrooms or prawns. Their signature "Yoteiyama Bukkake" looks like Mt Yotei and includes freshly picked potatoes, carrots and pumpkins from local farms.

Houzuki Udon
Houzuki Udon is well known as one of the best udon shops in town. They serve beautiful handmade udon noodles in a well crafted broth with tempura or karaage chicken. This highly recommended udon has a delicious, chewy texture and you always get a generous portion so take your time and savour this incredible meal.

Meisui Udon Nonosan
Meisui Udon Nonosan is an Udon restaurant in Kyogoku town, a 15 minute drive from Hirafu. The building is a warm, old Japanese-style wooden house, with old style decoration and Japanese traditional folk songs play within. With tables and raised seating, this is a great place for a family outing. The udon noodles are handmade using 100% wheat flour produced in Hokkaido and Kyogoku's famous spring water. They offer free udon for young children and a discounted price for elementary school children.

Yukitei Niseko
Boasting 50 years of tradition, Yukitei Niseko Restaurant brings authentic Hokkaido cuisine from the farm and sea to the table. Their signature Heavy Snow Udon is made from 100% Kutchan potatoes and bathed in the family's secret stock. They have shabu-shabu available on their menu which comes with hand-picked Hokkaido-produced wines and sake. They also sell dry noodles at the restaurant for guests to take home with them.
