Park Hyatt to Open in Niseko Hanazono
Major boost for Niseko as Park Hyatt reveal Hanazono development plans for 2019.
Park Hyatt will open a hotel and an additional 100 privately-owned residences in Hanazono in 2019. The 100-room ski-in ski-out hotel will feature a selection of restaurants, corporate areas, a golf clubhouse, ski shop and valet, spa, fitness centre and swimming pool.
The 100 Park Hyatt-branded residences will be the first in Japan, and will operate under a rental program managed by the luxury hotel brand.
The announcement comes amidst a property boom in Niskeko, with several buildings currently under development and interest in the resort at an all-time high.
The hotel will join Hirafu's newly-built Ki Niseko and Niseko Village-based The Hilton Niseko and The Green Leaf Hotel in competing at the top-end of the Niseko market.
A press release issued yesterday by Park Hyatt and Pacific Century Premium Developments declared that the hotel would "reflect the intimate and contemporary feel of the Park Hyatt brand while embracing the culture and beauty of Niseko."
“The agreement marks a key milestone in our Hokkaido project where we have long term plans to develop this area into a world-class resort destination,” said Robert Lee, PCPD’s Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “With this collaboration, we believe the project will be well received and the resort development will become a tourism landmark in Niseko, Hokkaido upon its completion, which will support the long-term growth of the local community."
“This project is a testament to our commitment to strategic and thoughtful growth in Japan. We are grateful to have the opportunity to introduce the Park Hyatt brand to Niseko, one of the most renowned ski resort destinations in the world, and we know that the brand’s sophisticated and personalized service will attract guests from around the world.”
