Tatsumi Restaurant - Niseko's Next Big Thing?

There's a new player on Niseko's ever-growing fine-dining scene and this one really packs a punch. Just outside of central Hirafu, near the banks of the Shiribetsu River, sits the newly-opened Tatsumi Restaurant. 

With high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, the space is open and light, and faces directly toward Mt Yotei with an unobstructed and protected view. It's hard to imagine a better view when sitting down for a long lunch. 

The pursuit of culinary excellence at Tatsumi Restaurant begins in the soil and in the sea. Only the best ingredients, mainly from Hokkaido, are sourced to create delicious lunch and dinner sets, as well as a-la-carte dishes such as Grilled Lamb Chops, Dry-Aged Red Perch and Sauteed Scallop in Seaweed Butter.  

From the thinly sliced prosciutto starter, through to the Crème Brûlée desert (served with a hidden ice-cream centre), the layoured flavours and incredible detail in everything put to plate at Tatsumi Restaurant is hard to criticise. 

Tatsumi Restaurant boasts a wide selection of Hokkaido and international wines, whiskeys, spirits, and even a 'champagne of the day' ice bucket for pure indulgence. 

The service at Tatsumi Restaurant gives off a sense that they've been in business for quite some time, so it may come as a shock to learn that the restaurant only opened in late 2018. Attentive, knowledgeable wait staff are on hand to make your experience at Tatsumi Restaurant one to remember.
