Well known as a winter wonderland, Niseko transforms into a cool summer paradise in Asia during the warmer months. With days becoming longer and much warmer in Niseko, it is not difficult to imagine the beautiful green season with fun summer activities and events in Niseko. 

Here's the rundown of the weather in Niseko to plan the best summer getaway. 

Average weather 21°C / 11°C 

With plenty of sunshine and the least rainfall out of the summer months, Niseko in June is perfect for summer adventures. Early summer is the best time to go on long road trips around Hokkaido and camping in the mountain range. 

In the evening, enjoy June's warm weather with an evening BBQ with friends and families. With most parks in Niseko allowing BBQ make sure to bring food and drinks enough for all.

With the longest hours of daylight in the summer months, July is best for summer activities in both day and night. Participate in one of the many vibrant cycling events happening during this month and enjoy the natural scenery around town with the cool summer breeze. 

After all the adventure packed activities, wind down at an onsen like a local would in the summer and attend a stargazing event in the long summer night.

August is the warmest period of the year in Niseko and is full of traditional festivals. Owing to the unique terrain, the weather is not humid compared to other parts of Asia. Enjoy mid summer by attending Kutchan's famous Jaga Matsuri (Potato Festival) and the array of firework festivals happening in the area! 

Alternatively, go tree-trekking in NAC Adventure Park, canyoning or whitewater rafting through Shiribetsu River to cool down from the summer heat.

With much cooler temperatures, September is perfect for hikes and mountain bike trails. Brave Mt Yotei and enjoy the clean mountain air with an epic view of the area from an altitude of 1,898 metres high. 

In the evening, go for a relaxing golf session in one of the many golf courses in Niseko or play park golf, a cross between golf and croquet.
