First Snow on Mt. Yotei and Niseko-Annupuri for 2017
The first snow has fallen on Mt. Yotei for the 2017/18 season, one week earlier than last year.
Winter is well on its way with Niseko's iconic Mt. Yotei and Niseko-Annupuri receiving their first sprinkling of snow for the 2017/18 season.

First major snowfall on Mt. Yotei on October 5th.
The dusting of sugar-like snow first appeared on the top of Mt. Yotei on September 29th, visible once the morning cloud-cover had cleared from the peak. The first snow fall comes a week earlier than in 2016, which saw the snow arrive on October 7th.
A second round of snowfall, much more this time, covering the top of Mt. Yotei on October 5th.

Niseko-Annupuri has also received its first blanket of snow on its peak on October 4th. Great news for skiers and snowboaders gearing up for the winter ski season in Niseko.

The temperature in Niseko has also dropped in what seems like overnight with many already turning on their heaters in the evening with temperatures as low as 4 degrees Celsius. We are looking forward to the next fresh snow to fall and await its arrival into Hirafu village. Bring on winter!
