"World Ski Awards™ is the only global initiative to recognise, reward and celebrate excellence in ski tourism. It's annual 3 day event is the only time that the international leaders of the industry come together to exchange local knowledge, innovations and principles of best practise on a global stage."
That is to say, the annual World Ski Awards provides the highest level of recognition available to ski resorts, ski hotels, and ski chalets around the globe. While there are all kinds of accolades that can be bestowed upon a business, a hotel, or a resort through any number of online sources like TripAdvisor or government agencies, this is the only peer-reviewed ski industry specific award that carries weight with the international community.
For Niseko, it has been a particularly momentous event given that we have swept the Japan category in 2014, 2015 and 2016 (we also did pretty well in 2013, almost sweeping the categories for Japan that year as well!). 2016 was our biggest year yet as a resort and travel destination with not only a clean sweep in categories specific to Japan, but with a number of Niseko-based operations ranking top in the world!
