Niseko Goshiki Onsen

Built entirely of wood and featuring pools made with Japanese larch wood, Goshiki Onsen truly has a homely and old-country feel to it. Coupled with its amazing views and secluded location it makes for a particularly magical bathing experience. In winter, snow presses in between the wooden boards and further enhances the experience and atmosphere.
The onsens name, goshiki, translates to mean five colours and the onsen was given this name due to the water sourced for the spring having five different sources and different colours. The sources are all mixed together to create a bathing pool that is high in sulfuric acid, magnesium, sodium, calcium and other chemicals which help to soothe the skin and relax the muscles.
